Microsoft’s Copilot AI is now inside Samsung TVs and monitors

Microsoft's Copilot AI assistant is now available on Samsung's 2025 TVs and smart monitors. Users can use Copilot to ask for movie suggestions, spoiler-free episode recaps, and other general questions. Copilot, a personified chickpea, will appear on TVs within the Samsung Tizen OS homescreen, Samsung Daily Plus, and Click to Search. Users can access Copilot through voice commands or using a remote. Microsoft plans to bring Copilot to LG TVs as well. Copilot is now available on Samsung's 2025 TVs, including Micro RGB, Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame Pro, and The Frame models, as well as the M7, M8, and M9 smart monitors.

MathGPT, the ‘cheat-proof’ AI tutor and teaching assistant, expands to over 50 institutions

MathGPT, an AI platform, has been launched to provide an "anti-cheating" tutor to college students and a teaching assistant to professors. Following a successful pilot program at 30 US colleges and universities, MathGPT is preparing to nearly double its availability this fall. The platform's AI chatbot, trained to ask students questions and provide support, is known as Socratic questioning. For instructors, MathGPT serves as a teaching assistant, generating questions and schoolwork based on uploaded textbooks and learning materials, as well as offering auto-grading capabilities and additional AI features. MathGPT supports college-level math, including Algebra, Calculus, and Trigonometry. An upgraded version of the platform has introduced new features that give professors more control over how their students use the tools. The platform has become more instructor-centric, allowing instructors to determine when students are allowed to interact with the chatbot and set the number of attempts a student has to answer a question correctly. MathGPT also offers screen reader compatibility and an audio mode, making it more accessible to individuals with disabilities. The company claims to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Taco Bell’s AI drive-thru plan gets caught up on trolls and glitches

Taco Bell's plan to install an AI voice assistant in hundreds of drive-thrus is not going as planned, as customers express frustrations on social media and post videos of troll attempts. The company is reevaluating the deployment of the technology, which has been deployed in over 500 US locations since last year. Other fast-food chains, such as McDonald's, Wendy's, and White Castle, are also experimenting with AI. However, Mathews suggests that using AI exclusively in certain situations, like busy restaurants with long lines, might not be the best idea.
