They’re a private company, but Pacaso just reserved the Nasdaq ticker “$PCSO.”

No surprise the same firms that backed Uber, eBay, and Venmo already invested in Pacaso. What is unique is Pacaso is giving the same opportunity to everyday investors. And 10,000+ people have already joined them.

Created a former Zillow exec who sold his first venture for $120M, Pacaso brings co-ownership to the $1.3T vacation home industry.

They’ve generated $1B+ worth of luxury home transactions across 2,000+ owners. That’s good for more than $110M in gross profit since inception, including 41% YoY growth last year alone.

And you can join them today for just $2.90/share. But don’t wait too long. Invest in Pacaso before the opportunity ends September 18.

Enthropic to pay $1.5 billion to outsiders in landmark settlement

Anthropic has agreed to pay at least $1.5 billion to authors in a class-action lawsuit for allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands of copyrighted books. The settlement is subject to court approval and a hearing on September 8th. The final amount could be higher, with approximately 500,000 works likely to be paid out. If the total is higher, Anthropic will pay an additional $3,000 per work. The settlement only releases claims based on past acts and does not give Anthropic a license or permission for future AI training or claims that arise after August 25, 2025. The settlement is notable during a time of mounting lawsuits against AI companies over copyright infringement from media outlets, platforms, creatives, and companies.

Tech leaders' presence at the White House has become a relatively commonplace occurrence during this administration. Many of the CEOs who attended Thursday's dinner also showed up for Trump's inauguration and donated to his inaugural fund. Each of the CEOs stands to gain or lose from Trump and his policies, including tariffs on semiconductors and other products, permits, access to resources like electricity, and power energy-intensive AI. Many of them are already engaged in legal battles with the administration over other parts of their businesses.

Showrunner wants to use generative AI to recreate lost footage from an Orson Welles classic

Showrunner, a startup that charges people to create AI-generated videos featuring copyrighted content, is working on a project to restore Orson Welles' classic, The Magnificent Ambersons. The company has designed a new generative AI model to recreate lost footage from the 1942 adaptation, which was nominated for four Oscars and is considered one of Welles' best works. Showrunner believes that using generative AI can bring back lost footage and allow people to see The Magnificent Ambersons as Welles intended. The company plans to use AI-generated approximations of what Welles might have shot and sequences featuring live actors whose faces are manipulated with gen AI to look like members of the original film's cast. Tom Clive, an AI VFX artist, will help realize the project.
