Apple’s AI Siri might be powered by OpenAI

Apple is considering partnering with OpenAI or Anthropic to power its AI-upgraded Siri, according to a report from Bloomberg. Apple is working on developing an upgraded "LLM Siri" and has asked OpenAI and Anthropic to create versions of their large language models to test on the company's private cloud infrastructure. Apple appointed Mike Rockwell as the leader of AI and Siri after losing confidence in the team's former chief, John Giannandrea. Apple is also close to acquiring Perplexity, which has a tie-up with Motorola.

Marsha Blackburn agreeing to cut the moratorium to five years and allow states to continue enforcing AI laws. The Senate must still vote on the budget reconciliation vote before being passed to President Trump.
